The tie bundling cart is designed to stack, band and dump to the side bundles of up to 16 crossties. The tie cart is made to dump ties to either side of the track, depending on which side the operator stacks the ties. The tie crane operator does the stacking on the cart as he picks up the ties that have been removed from under the rails. Two versions are available. With one, the banding equipment and bulk bands are cut to length at the time the ties are banded together. With the other, the bands may be pre-made to a satisfactory length and hung as a loop on the tie cart for rapid use when the tie stacking is completed. The tie cart features rugged steel construction with solid-steel wheels, 2-inch axles and heavy-duty roller bearings.
