Progress Rail, MOW Division: Tie Crane 12-12

Progress Rail, MOW Division

The tie crane 12-12 has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,200 pounds at 24 feet from the centerline of the track. Both the upper deck and tie grapple feature 360 degrees of continuous rotation. The tie grapple hydraulic rotator uses the extra-heavy-duty GV-12 model and can be fitted with single tie, two-tie, or basket grapples. Joysticks control all boom and grapple functions as well as deck rotation. Dual hydraulic propel motors with #100 drive chain provide quicker response and higher speeds, the company says. Propel motors are accessible from the top of the deck. An optional series/parallel valve enables choice of high torque or speed. An eight-channel swivel is mounted on top of the deck for easy access, the company says. A remote hydraulic oil cooler is equipped with dual electric fans. Other features include: special large diameter slewing ring for longer life; standard two-year/2,000-hour engine limited warranty and five-year frame limited warranty; extra wide spread base root boom for added strength; wider deck for easier service access and roomy extra wide cab for operator comfort; vertical rear-cab wall mount air conditioner; and no service items on roof of cab. Manifold-type hydraulic stack valves are used for maximum serviceability, the company says.
