The 47-5 tie replacer provides tie renewal at the high-production rates required to meet the needs of high-speed tie gang operations. The entire inserter/extractor assembly turns on a slewing ring, allowing the removal of ties from either side without turning the machine. It is capable of removing ties with one stroke. The cab provides visibility of both tie clamp head and the kicker. Electrically operated joy stick controls maximize operator efficiency, the company says, adding that the pivoting tie clamp head enables the operator to handle ties with dexterity to perform tie insertion or removal.
