Trak-Star® Twister™ annular bits are designed to cut holes in rail in as few as 15 seconds. They feature a quarter-turn style mounting for quick, easy, no-tools-required mounting in Trak-Star rail drills with Quick-Release Tool Mounting Arbors. They are precision-ground and available in HSS Twister Black Bits which feature a Titanium Aluminum Nitride coating or Twister Carbide Bits. AAR testing shows they restrict rail temperatures around the hole to just 35 F above ambient temperatures, eliminating thermally activated embrittlement, stress cracks and premature rail failure, the company says.
