The ASF-K Twin-Pack is a new design, unlike a traditional draft gear, the company says. The Twin-Pack is designed to allow for separate buff and draft performance, offering improved train action control. The integral yoke and follower are designed to eliminate the need for a heavy draft gear housing, saving 300 pounds per carset. The company says the Twin-Pack eliminates wear and lowers maintenance costs because there is no housing wear, no friction clutch to wear, no springs to break or fatigue or yoke strap damage.
