The DuPage Railroad Safety Council (DRSC) has announced its first-ever Rail Revolution Grant, an award of $5,000 to Kroy Railway Group LLC.

Kroy is a train technology company dedicated to improving safety and efficiency, DRSC officials said in a press release. The DRSC grant is intended to support rail safety programs in the community.

Kroy was selected because of its work predicting blockages at grade crossings and providing more efficient and dynamic routing applications for first responders, DRSC officials said.DRSC has a goal of reducing rail-related fatalities by 50% by 2026.

"Railroad safety has been a key part of the Kroy mission from its inception," said Connor Polomsky, Kroy's co-founder. The DRSC grant "will support us in our efforts to develop nationwide tech-based tools for first responders, municipalities and commuters."
