North Dakota DOT seeks input on grade crossing action plan

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is soliciting public input on its draft of the Highway-Rail Grade Crossing State Action Plan, which details efforts to identify solutions and strategies to improve grade crossing safety.

Some solutions will include grade crossing closures and separations, especially at crossings that have been the site of multiple train-vehicle collisions or are at high risk of such incidents. The state has no crossings that have been the site of multiple collisions within the past five years, NDDOT officials said in a press release.

Public comments on the plan will be accepted until Feb. 8 via email to dotplanning@nd.gov or via the state's website.
