Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI) yesterday released its 2019 Annual Report and the results of this year’s Rail Safety Week.
OLI’s annual report illustrates the national rail safety education nonprofit’s impact, including event highlights, grant projects, increased education outreach numbers and the 2019 financial statement.
In 2019, 2.5 million people were reached in over 21,000 presentations, training classes and events across the United States, showing a 56% increase from the 1.6 million people reached in 2018.
The total number of presentations, training classes and events increased 5% from 2018, according to the report.
In 2019, OLI received $2.2 million in total revenue and support, including $1.3 million from government grants and awards, $125,00 from foundation grants and $745,700 from contributions. OLI reported expenses of $2 million.
OLI yesterday also released the results of of Rail Safety Week 2020, which summarizes the U.S. efforts of this year’s Rail Safety Week, which was held Sept. 21-27 across North America.
In 2020, OLI reached 12.3 million social media impressions during the week, a 29.7% increase over 2019. Thousands of others were reached through public service announcements, media coverage and advertising.
