The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) this week approved construction authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) directing CSX to install lights and gates at a grade crossing in Hardin County.

CSX must complete the project by Feb. 2, 2019. The grade crossing is located at Locker Road/County Road 60 in Hardin County, according to a PUCO press release.

Federal funding for the project is provided through the ORDC. Funding for such projects comes from Ohio's State Grade Crossing Safety Fund.

The PUCO evaluates Ohio's public grade crossings to determine the need for installing active warning devices.
