Winchester & Western recognizes safety efforts with donation


OmniTRAX bestowed its Safe Shipper Award presented to three Berkeley County companies with spotless rail safety records

OmniTRAX Inc. subsidiary Winchester & Western Railroad Co. (WW) presented a contribution to the Berkeley County Fire Service Board at a ceremony honoring three local recipients of the inaugural OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award.

The award is presented to companies that use safe shipping practices and ship or receive loaded cars with no accidental releases during the previous year.

The 2020 award recipients are Allmine Paving LLC, Associated Asphalt of Martinsburg LLC and The Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co. WW made $1,000 contributions in the name of each recipient.

“[The winners] represent the best of what a shipper can be for the communities they operate in by being safe neighbors,” said OmniTRAX Chief Operating Officer Gord Anutooshkin in a news release.
