Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will install camera systems on all rail cars in the wake of a fatal shooting aboard one of its trains. The news comes after BART acknowledged that some cameras on its rail cars were decoys, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle. As a result, the agency wasn't able to capture footage of the Jan. 9 homicide on a train at the West Oakland Station, the newspaper reported.BART's staff now is working on funding options, a procurement plan and a deployment strategy for the cameras, said BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost in a statement. The agency's "Fleet of the Future" cars will come equipped with cameras, Trost added.
