Three sessions have been added to the agenda for this year's Secure Rail Conference, which will be held April 21-22 in Chicago.

The sessions recently added feature presentations from Alex Borhani, director of information technology security at CSX; Aston Greene, deputy chief of system security and law enforcement officer at Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro); and John Walsh, assistant vice president of safety and security at Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services Inc. (G&W).

Borhani's presentation, titled "The Emergence of Cyberterrorism and the Potential Impact to Rail Operations," will outline the potential impact of cyberterrorism on rail operations.

Greene's topic, titled "Emergency Preparedness: Metro's Road to the Olympics 2028," will review the agency's timetable for developing best practices that will be implemented during the Olympic games that LA will host in 2028.

Walsh's session, titled "Partnering with Local Authorities to Address Rail Security Concerns," will detail how G&W enlists the support of local agencies to secure the company's rail lines.

Presented by Progressive Railroading, Secure Rail's mission is to bridge the gap between the future of rail technology and rail security. This year's event will be held at the DoubleTree-Magnificent Mile in Chicago.

Entering its sixth year, the conference also will address cyber security tactics and risk assessment, physical security best practices, passenger-rail security technologies and ways to minimize revenue loss due to fare evasion.
