Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Parker appointed Scott Kreher chief of police and emergency management, effective March 9.

Kreher has 27 years of law enforcement experience, most recently serving as deputy chief of the Atlanta Police Department.

Kreher also has served as the commander of several Atlanta Police Department units, including the support services and contingency operations divisions, night watch and the vice unit. He also helped to combat street-level drug operations and human trafficking, investigated robbery and major fraud, and served as a supervisor in the criminal investigations and fugitive task force divisions.

“In his 27-year career in Atlanta law enforcement, Chief Kreher has worked alongside the MARTA Police Department during events such as the 1996 Olympics and most recently Super Bowl LIII,” said MARTA Chief of System Safety, Security and Emergency Management Wanda Dunham in a press release.
