Paul Veeneman, vice president of operations at MBA Engineering Inc. and a scheduled speaker at the upcoming Secure Rail 2020 Conference in Chicago, has accepted an appointment to the new Association of American Railroads' Cybersecurity Joint Forum for rail industry suppliers.

The new forum aims to enhance cybersecurity awareness and mitigate disruptions to information technology systems and railroad operations.

At the Secure Rail Conference, which will be held April 21-22 in Chicago, Veeneman will address the greatest cybersecurity threats to the rail industry and how to prevent cybersecurity attacks.

Presented by Progressive Railroading, Secure Rail's mission is to bridge the gap between the future of rail technology and rail security. This year's event will be held at the DoubleTree-Magnificent Mile in Chicago.

Entering its sixth year, the conference also will address physical security best practices, passenger-rail security technologies and ways to minimize revenue loss due to fare evasion.
