Secure Rail 2020 adds to virtual conference lineup

The Secure Rail Conference 2020, scheduled to be held virtually Aug. 25-26, recently expanded its agenda to include new sessions and speakers.

New to this year's session and speaker lineup are the following:
Strategies for Mass Transit for Pushing Safety and Policy PIS Content in Real Time to Riders. Transit agencies are taking steps to reopen services during the COVID-19 pandemic by promoting hygiene, social distancing and by displaying vehicle capacity in real time to riders. This session will explore strategies for pushing real-time data aimed at increasing riders' confidence for choosing transit. Scheduled panelists are Alfredo Perez, president  of Perez Consulting LLC, and James Chong, security and technology expert, AECOM.
Protect Operational Technologies and Control Systems Against Cyberattacks. This session will explore strategies of real-time protection of operational technology (OT) asses, including rail locomotives and wayside assets. Scheduled panelists are Todd Ellis, senior director at Clifton, Weiss & Associates; and Alfredo Perez.

Other speakers recently added to the event's agenda include Nicole Brewin, vice president of government and public affairs at the Railway Supply Institute; Carl Cicero, inspector training coordinator for the Metra Police Department; Christopher Deringer, senior director, security risk management at Hillard Heintze; and Jordan Ferrantelli, Midwest security manager, security design at Hillard Heintze.
