CDC mandates masks on public transit, including rail

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an order imposing a mask mandate on public transportation systems, including rail, to mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced yesterday.
The CDC order implements President Joe Biden's executive order to promote COVID-19 safety during domestic and international travel, FTA officials said in a press release.
Mask-wearing is one of several proven measures that helps prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Also yesterday, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issued a security directive that supports enforcement of the CDC's mask mandate.
