Yesterday, The Andersons Inc. announced it signed an agreement to acquire an ethanol production facility in Denison, Iowa, from the Amaizing Energy Denison L.L.C. and Amaizing Energy Holding Co. L.L.C. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter, at which time the plant would be owned by The Andersons Denison Ethanol L.L.C.

Served by two Class Is, the production facility includes an ethanol plant and adjacent grain terminal featuring a 2.7 million-bushel capacity.

“This ethanol facility enables us to offer our grain marketing expertise and the associated services to grain producers in Iowa, and fits well with our existing presence as an investor in the Iowa Northern Railway Company and our merchandising relationship with Lansing Trade Group,” said The Andersons Chief Executive Officer Mike Anderson in a prepared statement.
