Effective Aug. 1, the Canadian Grain Commission changed its producer car program in an effort to improve service to producers and producer car administrators. The changes include issuing commission identification numbers to producers; allowing administrators to submit a weekly shopping request list; and requiring that each producer provide an email address to facilitate communication about a car order, commissioners said in a press release.Additionally, the changes call for sending email confirmations to producers to ensure each producer car application has a confirmed sale prior to allocating a car, and implementing backlog and performance allocation rules.
