Bartlett Co. has completed construction of a soybean processing plant in Cherryvale, Kansas, that will be served by Watco's South Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad.

Bartlett's site includes the processing plant, product tank farm, grain elevators and a multiloop track system. The plant will handle up to 49 million bushels of soybeans annually, providing sustainable soy feedstocks for refined vegetable oil, animal feed and renewable transportation fuels, Bartlett officials said in a press release.

Construction began in 2022. Yesterday, Bartlett held a ceremony to mark the plant's opening. Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, Lt. Gov. and Commerce Secretary David Toland, U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) and other federal, state and local leaders attended the event.

“We’re excited that this plant will play dual roles in satisfying growing demand for feed and food and also renewable energy,” said Savage Co. Kirk Aubry. “In addition to our new soybean processing plant in Kansas, we continue to develop a range of sustainable solutions for farmers and food producers.”

Bartlett is a subsidiary of Savage Co., which provides agriculture and energy industry infrastructure and supply-chain services.
