G3 Canada Ltd., which operates a grain elevator in Quebec City, has reached an agreement that renews its long-term partnership with the Port of Quebec for another 30 years. G3 has been operating the grain elevator for more than 50 years.

The Port of Quebec is served by CN, Canadian Pacific Kansas City, the Quebec-Gatineau Railway and Charlevoix Railway.

G3 specializes in importing and exporting grains such as corn, soybeans, wheat and canola. Because of its proximity to agricultural producers in eastern Quebec, the Quebec City terminal is convenient for receiving ships transiting the St. Lawrence Seaway, G3 officials said in a news release. The Port of Quebec enables G3 to benefit from needed water depth, and rail and seaway access.

"This agreement is crucial for [us] and the agricultural producers we serve throughout the province. Our partnership with the port makes the difference in our ability to meet the demands of agricultural producers who want to market their grain at lower cost and as quickly as possible to world markets," said G3 President Don Chapman.
