G3 plans to build two new grain elevators in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Both facilities — one in Rycroft, Alberta, and the other in Melfort, Saskatchewan — will feature a capacity of 42,000 tonnes and be served by CN.

Construction is slated to start later this year, pending final regulatory approvals, with completion expected in early 2023, G3 officials said in a news release.

Both elevators will include a loop track that can be used to quickly load a 150-car unit train, as well as feature road access for area producers and rail links to export markets.

The company currently manages 17 grain elevators in western Canada, including two that opened earlier this year in Vermilion, Alberta, and Swift Current, Saskatchewan. G3 Terminal Vancouver — a state-of-the-art grain export terminal on Canada's West Coast — opened in 2020.
