Gulf Inland Logistics Park, a 1,050-acre industrial and commercial development near Dayton, Texas, has signed initial user land sales with two global chemical companies.

BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad serve the park, which eventually will include more than 10 million square feet of rail-served industrial facilities and storage for more than 1,850 rail cars.

The park is located adjacent to the existing UP and BNSF rail-car storage in transit facilities which total more than 9,500 combined rail-car spaces. The Class Is will offer dual service via a turnout on the Baytown Branch Line, Gulf Inland officials said in a press release.

Both of the initial tenants are global specialty chemical businesses, which will use their new facilities at Gulf Inland to improve supply chain logistics, expand business opportunities and achieve cost synergies, park officials said.

The tenants were not identified by name in the press release.

"We are excited to break ground on these initial sales, and see the pace of development accelerating into 2019," said Marcus Goering, chief executive officer of CMC Railroad, a Class III and the owner of Gulf Inland.

Gulf Inland has direct access to U.S. Highway 90 and State Highway 146.
