Thermoplastic resin distributor M. Holland Co. has moved its warehouse operations to a new 400,000-square-foot facility in Coal City, Illinois, that will offer access for nearly 800 rail cars and a fleet of bulk trucks.

Owned and operated by G&D Trucking/Hoffman Transportation, the facility's services include warehousing, bulk transfer and packaging. The "Gold Standard Distribution Center" also provides M. Holland with access to all major U.S. ports, company officials said in a press release.

Coal City is located about 60 miles southwest of Chicago, close to some of the world's largest intermodal yards.

"The transportation industry is experiencing unique challenges, such as trucker shortages and increased logistics costs," said M. Holland Vice President of Operations Pete Nutley. "We've been building long-term, strategic relationships with logistics partners like G&D Trucking/Hoffman Transportation to stay ahead of these challenges and deliver the best fulfillment services possible to our clients."

The joint venture with G&D also provides M. Holland access to direct rail service from BNSF Railway Co., CN and Union Pacific Railroad.
