The Ohio Rail Development Commission this week approved a $100,000 grant to household products manufacturer Church & Dwight Co. to expand its on-site rail infrastructure in Old Fort, Ohio.
The company will expand the infrastructure for both new and current lines at the Old Fort facility, which is undergoing a $50 million expansion. Church & Dwight will hire 80 employees during the expansion, bringing the total facility employment to just under 400 people, commission officials said in a press release.
Church & Dwight is one of only two baking soda manufacturers in the United States. It markets a range of household, personal care and specialty products to consumers and businesses under several brand names, including Arm & Hammer, Orajel and OxiClean.
"Our on-site rail infrastructure … is critically important to the overall project," said Church & Dwight Plant Manager David Johnston.
