Viterra on Feb. 25 broke ground on a new grain-handling facility in Dalhart, Texas. The facility will have a loop track served by Union Pacific Railroad.
Community leaders, UP officials and Viterra employees attended the groundbreaking.
Viterra is an international agriculture storage, process and transportation solutions provider. The site is anticipated to be completed in mid-2026, Viterra officials said in a press release.
“We innovate for growth just like this, investing more than $10 million per day in infrastructure, technology and network expansion to provide solutions for our customers to win in the marketplace,” said Jason Hess, UP's senior vice president marketing and sales.
No project cost was mentioned in the press release.
