Northern Plains Railroad (NPR) marked a safety milestone Sunday when its transportation department achieved 3,000 days without a personal injury as defined by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).To be FRA injury free for more than eight years is a "significant accomplishment, a personal appreciation for the value of safety and compliance with our formal safety programs," said NPR President Jesse Chalich in a press release.The regional is part of the Northern Plains Rail Cos. NPR, which operates a 350-mile regional railroad in western Minnesota, also will mark its 20th anniversary this year."We are so very proud of our transportation people and the example of excellence that they have set for the rest of our companies as we work toward continuous improvement in our overall safety culture," Chalich said.
