TNW marks facility and service expansion for central Texas short line

TNW Corp. recently celebrated a major facility and service expansion for one of its central Texas short lines.

Held earlier this month, the ceremonies marked the expansion of the Texas Gonzales and Northern Railway Co.'s (TXGN) rail yard, which increased TXGN’s storage capacity by 400 rail cars; a newly constructed locomotive maintenance facility, designed for the TXGN fleet and future rail-car maintenance services; and a new partnership with Strataflex International Services Group to provide rail-car cleaning services. The partners will provide hydro-blasting cleaning, fogger washes, internal and external scrubs and recoating services, and imaging and inspection technology.

Among those attending the ceremony were U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), and local elected officials and business leaders from the Gonzales-Harwood area.

In addition to the TXGN, Dallas-based TNW owns and operates two other short lines and three logistics centers in Texas: TXR Railway, TXNW Railway, Panhandle Logistics Center, Camp Bowie Industrial Area and Eagle Ford Logistics Center.
