OmniTRAX yesterday became the exclusive rail partner and operator for the Tulsa Port of Catoosa in Oklahoma.

The long-term contract with the City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority, also known as Tulsa Ports, took effect yesterday. The agreement provides OmniTRAX customers a central hub to reach local, Midwest and southwestern U.S. markets, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release.

The new Port of Catoosa Industrial Railroad (PCIR) expands the company's Oklahoma presence from its original Sand Springs commercial development and rail operations, they said. OmniTRAX plans to collaborate with state and local officials to attract new park projects that increase economic development in the region.

"The Port of Catoosa provides exceptional access to America’s Heartland, and we are excited to contribute an unmatched service product and demonstrated record of growth across commodities to continue the port’s growth," said OmniTRAX CEO Dean Piacente.

The port is one of the largest inland ports in the United States. It is a multimodal shipping complex with a 2,000-acre industrial park.
