Last week, Railinc announced more than 50 regionals and short lines now use the company’s RailSync suite of information technology (IT) services, more than double the number of users in October 2004.

The Pickens Railway Co. and Cando Contracting Ltd. recently implemented the RailSync Command module. Available in Command, Control, and Concur modules, RailSync is designed to manage transportation, interline data exchange and revenue settlement, and car-hire processing functions.

RailSync provides regionals and short lines more control over their operations to boost productivity and improve customer service, as well as reduce IT infrastructure and maintenance costs, said Railinc Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Sales Richard Flynn in a prepared statement.

Railinc provides IT services to North American railroads, shippers, equipment owners and suppliers, and manages e-commerce Web site Steelroads.com.
