Ohio railport installs warehouse management system

Mansfield Railport recently implemented a warehouse management system supplied by ADS Logistics L.L.C.

The railport will use ADS’ LoMaS® system to manage inventory and electronic data interchange (EDI) communications at its Mansfield, Ohio, facility. The system features barcode and wireless handheld scanners, billing and rating applications, and document creation and EDI communication tools for inbound material receipt, material release and outbound shipping functions.

“Having a warehouse management system was a necessity,” said Jim Lloyd, vice president of marketing and sales for Mansfield Railport, which warehouses freight moved by the 61-mile Ashland Railway Inc., in a prepared statement. “[The] system provides the flexibility to select those management tools necessary to our operation.”
