Patriot Rail to build transload facility on CPKC network in Texas

Patriot Rail Co. and Canadian Pacific Kansas City will together establish a multicommodity transload facility on CPKC's network in Denton, Texas.
The facility will offer competitive transload services and logistics solutions to customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Patriot Rail officials announced yesterday in a press release.
"We are excited to grow with CPKC and continue serving the cement, aggregate and lumber markets in the Southwest region by expanding our operations in Texas," said Patriot Rail Chief Commercial Officer Tom Tisa.
Construction on the facility is slated to begin later this year.
"We continue to leverage our strategic land holdings and invest in transloads across the network to create additional connections, improve service and provide our customers with more efficient and cost-effective transportation services," said Coby Bullard, CPKC senior vice president, sales and marketing merchandise, energy and business development.
A holding company, Patriot Rail owns 31 short lines and three excursion railroads, and provides various support services, including transloading, rail-car storage, real estate and logistics planning and assistance.
