The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and New England Central Railroad (NECR) have reached a tentative agreement that would cover rates of pay, benefits and work rules for 35 operating employees.

Ballots were mailed to active members and voting will conclude May 9, according to a BLET press release.

Operating employees at NECR voted to join BLET in September 2004.

The NECR is a Genesee & Wyoming Inc. subsidiary headquartered in St. Albans, Vermont. The railroad operates over 383 miles of leased and owned track.
