Cathcart Rail to handle INRD's rail-car repair, inspection
The Indiana Rail Road Co. (INRD) has partnered with Cathcart Rail to handle the railroad's rail-car interchange inspection and repair needs across the 500-mile INRD network.
Cathcart will provide the services in compliance with Federal Railroad Administration and Association of American Railroads standards at INRD's major terminals in Jasonville, Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Indiana, and Palestine, Illinois.
Cathcart began operations in May as the sponsored repair agent for INRD with a team of 15 carmen and site and regional management personnel. The team has "exponentially" increased rail-car inspections and repairs, said INRD President and CEO Dewayne Swindall in a news release.
"We always talk about operating rules and regulations, however rolling stock safety and regulatory requirements are equally important," he said. "Adding Cathcart provides another step in our safety process and we believe the company is well managed with the integrity to deliver a good work product for our customers and our company."
