Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) recently reported July North American carloads totaling 66,213 units — a 25.1 percent increase compared with July 2004.
GWI subsidiary Australian Rail Group’s July carloads totaled 80,284 units, a 0.3 percent increase compared with the same 2004 period. Officials attribute the increase to rising iron ore and bauxite traffic.
