Indiana Rail Road rolls out Santa Train for 33rd year

The Indiana Rail Road Co.'s (INRD) Santa Train returns for its 33rd year on Dec. 1, 2 and 3.
Riders can board the stationary, decorated passenger cars to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. While they wait, riders can meet volunteers dressed up as costumed characters. The event is free and open to children and adults.
Santa’s elves will also be giving away coats, hats and gloves to help children in need prepare for winter weather, according to an INRD news release.
Again this year, INRD will bring Bargersville’s Santa to town by train where he will visit with guests at their town hall. No guests will board the train at Bargersville; instead they will be able to enjoy the festivities of the town and visit with Santa at the town hall at their leisure.
"The enthusiasm of both the communities and volunteers for Santa Train grows exponentially each year," said INRD President and CEO Dewayne Swindall. "Being able to offer coats, hats and gloves for warmth to those in need during the holidays is a gift in itself."
