Koch Industries seeks STB approval to acquire Texas South-Eastern
advertisement
Koch Industries Inc. recently filed a notice of exemption with the Surface Transportation Board to acquire indirect control of the Texas South-Eastern Railroad Co.
The transaction is part of an agreement through which Koch subsidiary Georgia-Pacific Building Products will purchase from International Paper Co. certain assets associated with Temple-Inland Inc.'s building products business. Koch expects to consummate the transaction on or shortly after Feb. 1. International Paper in December reached an agreement to sell its Temple-Inland building products division to Georgia-Pacific L.L.C. for $750 million.
Koch currently directly or indirectly controls four other short lines in Kansas, Mississippi and Texas: Blue Rapids Railway Co. L.L.C.; KM Railways L.L.C.; Old Augusta Railroad L.L.C.; and Moscow Camden and San Augustine Railroad L.L.C.
