The Military Friendly Advisory Council has awarded Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co. (LIRC) the 2022 Military Friendly Employer designation.

More than 1,000 companies participated in a G.I. Jobs Magazine survey and public data evaluation to determine the designation. Ratings are based on each company’s survey score as well as an assessment for new hire retention, employee turnover, and promotion and advancement of veterans and military employees.

LIRC will be showcased along with other 2022 Military Friendly Employers in the magazine's December issue. Other railroads on the list include BNSF Railway Co., CN, Canadian Pacific and New York & Atlantic Railway Co. (NYA). Both LIRC and NYA are owned by Anacostia Rail Holdings.

“Whether by making veteran hires a priority or supporting them in the community, we owe [them] a debt of gratitude for their service,” said LRIC President John Goldman in a press release. “LIRC is lucky to have veterans employed in various roles throughout our organization and [we] look forward to continue supporting military veterans.”
