The North Shore Railroad Co. & Affiliates (NSHR) dedicated two locomotives to U.S. military members and veterans on May 17, the day before Armed Forces Day.

NSHR held a private ceremony along its Lycoming Valley Railroad in Pennsylvania on the Lundy Warehouse rail siding. The ceremony was attended by employees, many of whom are veterans of various branches of the U.S. military; employees’ families and friends; elected officials; and other members of the veteran community, according to an NSHR press release.

The event served as a dedication and unveiling of the LVRR 9052, the veterans unit, and the LVRR 9050, the memorial unit.

NSHR has been working for the past two years to dedicate two of its locomotives to U.S. military service members and veterans. The LVRR 9052 is painted in camouflage dark sandstone and is illustrated with the shadows of three soldiers saluting the U.S. flag. Painted in battleship gray, the LVRR 9050 is illustrated with the shadows of two soldiers paying their respects to a fallen comrade.
