Yesterday, RAILINC Corp. introduced RailSync™ Control, a Web-based system designed to help regionals and short lines manage car accounting processes.

Compatible with any transportation management system, Control enables users to retrieve, organize and process car hire information, compare historical data and analyze trends.

RAILINC plans to add Control to existing RailSync™ products Command and Concur. Command features Web-based tools designed to manage terminal, yard, train and industrial rail operations; Concur offers online tools to manage freight revenue and enable users to participate in the rail industry's certified Interline Settlement System.

"We believe that [Control], along with our other offerings, will not only benefit the individual railroads but the industry overall by helping maintain seamless rail service to shippers," said RAILINC President Jim Gardner in a prepared statement.

RAILINC provides information technology services to North American railroads, shippers, equipment owners and suppliers, and manages e-commerce Web site Steelroads.com.
