Railroad holding company RailUSA today announced it has changed its name to Gulf and Atlantic Railways LLC.
The company relocated to a new corporate office in Jacksonville, Florida, where it will continue overseeing its two key properties: the Florida Gulf and Atlantic Railroad (FGA) and the Grenada Railroad (GRYR), company officials said in a press release.
The move will not change operations at either holding, they added.
"We are taking a long-term approach that is heavily focused on investing in our team's safety and well-being, as well as the integrity of our facilities. While the RailUSA name and brand date back only a few years, we want a name and logo that is unique to us and our new phase of growth," said Ryan Ratledge, the company's president and CEO.
FGA operates along 430 miles of track and interchanges with CSX, AN Railway and Bay Line Railroad. GRYR operates along 280 miles of track in central Mississippi and interchanges with BNSF Railway Co., CN, Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern Railway and Union Pacific Railroad.
