Patriot Rail Corp. subsidiary the Sacramento Valley Railroad (SAV) recently obtained a long-term contract to provide exclusive freight-rail services for the 3,000-acre McClellan Business Park L.L.C.
Located near Sacramento, Calif., the business park has more than 2.4 million square feet of rail-served facilities, including 155 industrial buildings, 35 warehouses and a 10-acre rail transloading yard.
Effective March 1, SAV will provide all rail-car switching and other rail-related services, and support transloading activities on seven miles of rail lines within the business park. The short line will interchange with Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway Co. In 2007, about 3,500 carloads of lumber, petroleum, aggregate and manufactured products were shipped to and from McClellan Park.
Based in Boca Raton, Fla., Patriot Rail also owns and operates the Tennessee Southern Railroad, Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway and Utah Central Railway.
