Short Line Data Systems Inc. recently introduced ROCSMobil, a wireless event entry system designed for field and train crews, according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's newsletter.
The Rail Operations and Customer Service (ROCS) system can be used on a tablet or notebook personal computer, and transmit and process data in real time.
Short Line Data Systems also released the latest version of its non-wireless ROCS system, which enables users to transmit car hire data exchange messages, revise work orders, trace shipments and improve hazardous materials billing. The version is designed to monitor and transmit all Association of American Railroads-required events within minutes of real time.
