Rail News: Short Lines & Regionals
North Dakota University's Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute recently released its 2001 data profile of U.S. regionals and short lines, according to American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s (ASLRRA) bi-weekly newsletter.
The data profile includes statistics on 145 regionals and short lines, which responded to the university’s annual survey. Categorized by region, the report contains information and graphs on customers, commodities, carloadings, track, bridges and facilities, as well as financial data and projected capital investment budgets.
Copies of the data profile are available from ASLRRA (to members only) via email at kcassidy@aslrra.org or from the institute’s Web site at www.shortlinedata.com.
