• Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD), a subsidiary of Progress Rail Services Corp., and Barloworld have formed a joint venture, Electro-Motive Diesel Africa (Proprietary) Ltd. The joint venture will provide locomotive products and services, including access to diesel and emissions technology, to rail and transit customers in South Africa and neighboring countries. The joint venture’s formation further demonstrates the company’s dedication to growing its well-known global footprint, EMD officials said in a prepared statement. “Africa is an important market for us and the joint venture with an established company, like Barloworld in southern Africa, will position us well to support the needs of existing and new customers in South Africa and the region,” said Billy Ainsworth, chief executive officer of Progress Rail and EMD.

• Kelso Technologies Inc. has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary company named Kelso Innovative Solutions Inc. (KIS), and appointed Mike Girard as the new firm’s president.
