Nomad Digital has acquired the assets and contracts of Inova Multimedia, a Germany-based provider of information, entertainment and CCTV for public transportation. Inova has delivered more than 28,000 displays to customers such as Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom, BLS and NBC Universal, with installations in Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Malaysia, Switzerland and the United States, according to a Nomad Digital press release.

Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd. has signed a contract to provide a train control center and temporary speed restriction services for the Chongqing-Lichuan high-speed rail line in China. The contract is valued at $6.54 million, according to a company press release.

Thales Canada reported today its 2012 contracts amounted to $570 million (in Canadian dollars), an 18 percent year-over-year increase. Awards included a communications-based train control system project in India; a SelTrac® signaling solution for Vancouver's driverless Evergreen Line; a fully-automated SelTrac CBTC solution for Kuala Lampur's Ampang Line; a re-signaling project on the North-South, East-West line in Singapore; a second driverless CBTC project in Brazil; and a re-signal project on Walt Disney's Monorail system in Orlando, Fla.

Karl Bechtoldt and Randy Perdue have joined James McHugh Construction Co., where they will lead the firm's rail division. Bechtoldt will be responsible for all railroad construction operations. Prior to joining the firm, he served Ragnar-Benson Construction for more than 24 years, focusing primarily on rail projects. Perdue will serve as general superintendent for rail projects and manage all railroad field operations.

The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association Inc.'s (NRC) construction and maintenance equipment auction is set for April 16 in Little Rock, Ark., at the Blackmon Auctions facility. The auction will feature consignments from dozens of contractors, suppliers and railroads, according to the NRC. For equipment consigned to sell, 1 percent of the buyer's premium and a 2 percent seller's fee will go toward funding the NRC's Safety, Training and Education Program. All of the proceeds from equipment donated to the auction will help fund the program.
