Ashford was given a tour of the facilities by Tyler Owen, executive vice president of PVS, which is a division of Owen Industries, a family owned steel fabrication and steel service company.

The steel fabrication and metal processing operations employ 130 people. The 500,000-square-foot fabrication facility is served by freight rail.

"Companies such as Paxton & Vierling Steel are proof that manufacturing remains an essential component of the American economy," said Ashford in a press release issued by NRC.

Joining Ashford and Owen on the tour were Nebraska State Sen. Burke Harr; Mary O'Donohue, Ashford's business outreach representative; Ed Korbel, chief financial officer of Owen Industries; Keith Siebels, vice president of sales, PVS; Craig Bence, manager of information technology, Owen Industries; Ryan Nonnemaker, state director for GoRail; and Lindsey Collins, vice president of grassroots advocacy at NRC.

PVS is also a member of GoRail.
