Hanson Professional Services Inc. has formed a strategic alliance with Engineered Rail Solutions LLC, a firm that provides transportation logistics, engineering design services and operational optimization. The partnership brings logistics services to Hanson's rail clients while expanding engineering capabilities for Engineered Rail Solutions. The alliance will aim to provide complete services including engineering, market analysis, land development, program management, environmental permitting, financial analysis and site optimization to rail and industrial clients, according to a Hanson press release.

Otis will supply 54 elevators and modernize two existing units for Ottawa's O-Train Confederation Line, which is the first leg of the city's electric light-rail transit system. Otis Canada Inc. was awarded the contract to provide 44 Gen2® elevators and 10 special freight elevators, and to modernize two additional elevators. Many of the elevators will combine Otis' Gen2 technology with custom-designed glass cabs. The agreement includes a 10-year maintenance contract.

Nomad Digital has expanded the scope coverage of its ISO 9001 certification to cover its U.S. operations based in Rockville, Md. The news follows an external audit in Rockville. The certification demonstrates that Nomad has an "effective business management system in place that meets an internationally-recognized standard for quality management," company officials said in a press release.
