Massachusetts-based Device Technologies Inc. (DTi) announced that its Spring-Fast® SL-FST Transit and Rail Series wire protection grommet edging has met the EN 45545-2 European fire standard, which is mandatory for all rolling stock materials operating in Europe starting this year. The product also meets the related ASTM requirements for flame, smoke and toxicity standards. Companies that serve both the North American and European rail equipment industry now can have "unified design specifications for grommet edging," DTi officials said in a press release.Strato Inc. has received TTX Co.'s 2017 Supplier Evaluation Committee (SECO) award for the 22nd consecutive year. TTX rates suppliers on quality, cost, delivery, service, finance and administration. Suppliers are also ranked on their ability to provide "the highest quality, most reliable equipment at the lowest cost," Strato officials said in a press release. Strato manufactures airbrake hoses and components, as well as freight and passenger car parts, castings and fabrications, and custom product design and engineering engineering services.Transit Wireless Inc. has appointed Melinda White chief executive officer. She joins the company with more than two decades of experience in the wireless and telecommunications industry. Most recently, White served as CEO of Black Walnut Ventures, where she advised companies on strategy and operations. Transit Wireless provides cellular and Wi-Fi coverage in New York City underground subway stations.WSP USA has named Liz Telford senior environmental planning manager in Los Angeles. She is responsible for growing the firm's planning and environmental practice in Southern California. Telford also will manage projects and provide planning expertise in the development of major infrastructure projects, WSP officials said in a press release. Previously, Telford served as the Southern California regional manager of environmental planning for California's high-speed rail project and managed National Environmental Policy Act compliance for the Regional Transportation District of Denver's FasTracks program.
