Alstom will supply 13 trains to the Hello Paris consortium in charge of operating the CDG Express in France. The trains will be built based on the Coradia Polyvalent range, but will be unique to the CDG Express line in terms of interior fitting and on-board information, Alstom officials said in a press release.
NARSTCO has named Bruce Jones its general manager. He has 30 years of manufacturing operations experience across North America, NARSTCO officials said in a press release. Prior to joining NARSTCO, he served as managing director and vice president of operations at Weir Group PLC, as well as VP of operations at Dover Corp.
Loram Holdings Inc. has elected Lynn Kelley to its board. Kelley has 8 years of rail industry experience in operations, supply chain management, quality management, procurement, logistics and international business. Kelley most recently served as Union Pacific Railroad’s senior vice president of supply chain and continuous improvement.
Biarri Rail has completed implementation of the Boss rail planning software system at TasRail Railway’s headquarters in Tasmania, Australia. Biarri’s software was selected by TasRail in a competitive bid in 2017.
American Battery Solutions Inc. (ABS) has acquired the high-voltage manufacturing and testing assets from Robert Bosch Battery Systems. ABS now owns Bosch’s battery systems manufacturing facility and product lines in Springboro, Ohio, according to an ABS press release. Key manufacturing personnel at the plant will join ABS. The company will focus production on rail, bus, utility vehicle, marine and construction equipment applications.
Hanson Professional Services Inc. hired Tyler Kramer as a civil and railroad designer. He will assist with geometric design, drainage analysis, construction engineering, field investigations, calculations and the preparation of plans and specifications for railroad projects. Kramer was previously a Norfolk Southern Corp. intern where he maintained track and assisted with bridge panel, turnout and switch installations, Hanson officials said in a press release.
