Amsted Digital Solutions (ADS) has acquired the assets of Calgary-based rail-car fleet management software company GeoMetrix Rail Logistics Inc. as the first milestone toward expanding the company's digital footprint. "Our vision is to create a seamless and single platform experience for our customers," said Brad Myers, chief operations officer at ADS, in a press release. "GeoMetrix is a strong part of our vision and together we will shape the next evolution of fleet management leveraging AI technology and ADS's machine learning team." Financial terms were not disclosed. Former GeoMetrix President Jason Benedict is now vice president of digital sales for ADS.

Trinity Industries Inc. elected William Ainsworth to its board. He will serve on the finance and risk, and corporate governance and directors nominating committees. From 2019 until his retirement in 2020, Ainsworth served as group president of the energy and transportation segment for Caterpillar Inc. From 2017 to 2019, he was senior vice president and strategic adviser to Caterpillar's executive committee and responsible for Caterpillar's rail division. From 1993 to 2019, Ainsworth was president and chief executive officer of Progress Rail Services, which was acquired by Caterpillar in 2006.

IBI Group has appointed Audrey Jacob chief operations director. She is responsible for the marketing, communications and human resources functions globally, as well as in the firm's office leases. She also will help lead advancing the group's mandate on diversity, inclusion and belonging. Jacob previously held roles as the firm's Canada east deputy regional director and Toronto office lead. IBI also announced that Gerry Chaput has joined the group as director of partnerships. He will help lead the strategic growth of IBI services to governments and the private sector. He brings extensive experience in transportation to the role, including as executive vice president of program management at Metrolinx.
